Gifted and Talented Assessment
Children and Adults
Interventions are the most impactful when implemented early on.
Our interdisciplinary team is trained to administer all gold-standard intellectual and achievement assessment tools and follow best practices. Engaging in a Gifted and Talented assessment allows us to determine and tailor an intervention plan unique to your/your child’s strengths to promote success. The assessment may include cognitive tests, achievement tests, clinical interviews, and information gathered through questionnaires (completed by family members, teachers, and friends).
What is a Gifted and Talented Assessment?
If you're interested in enrolling your child in advanced education programs and gaining insight into their cognitive capabilities, a Gifted and Talented Assessment may be worth considering. Knowing your child's abilities can help you find educational programs that are suited to their potential, leading to better learning outcomes, increased motivation, and improved personal adjustment.
Our team is skilled at recognizing and understanding the complexity of giftedness, and we know that each person has unique areas of exceptionality. Some gifted children may struggle in standard classroom settings, experiencing underachievement or low motivation. We provide personalized recommendations and support to assist individuals in overcoming these challenges while developing their talents.

What does the assessment process look like?
Free 20-Minute Phone Consultation
We like to have a free 20-minute phone consultation with all new clients to hear your initial concerns, determine the best next steps, and determine if we are the right fit.
Initial intake
Your initial intake session will be with one of our intake specialists. This 1.5-hour session gives us the facts and background information required to determine the necessary assessments.
Assessment Summary
From the information gathered during the initial intake, we provide you with an assessment summary, which includes the number of billable hours broken down by assessment, potential interviews needed, and indirect hours such as scoring and report writing.
Assessment Sessions
We will start booking your tests once you confirm that you want to proceed with the assessment. This may include (but is not limited to) a cognitive portion, an academic portion, and clinical interviews.
Assessment Questionnaires
An essential aspect of our assessment process is gathering information from the important people in your life. We believe hearing from individuals in all areas of your life, including family members, teachers, significant others, and close friends, is crucial. They have a unique perspective on who you are and how you interact with others, and we value their input greatly. After all, they have known you longer than we have and can provide us with a complete picture of who you are in a familiar and comfortable environment.
Debrief and Psychological Report
Once all assessments and questionnaire forms are completed, we will begin the scoring and report writing. You will receive a comprehensive report with the findings, potential diagnoses, and recommendations. Once everything is completed, we will provide you with a thorough report that includes the findings, potential diagnoses, and recommendations. We aim to finish the entire process, from the initial intake to the final debrief, within 6-8 weeks.
